In the year 1992, the commission was reorganized under the Bangladesh Tariff Commission Act 1992 (Act No. 43 of 1992) under the name of Bangladesh Tariff Commission. Currently, it is working as an autonomous statutory body to protect native industries from unequal competition and to preserve them properly.
